Taking Mobile to the next level

My last Blog post was all about using Mobile friendly websites aka wmjhartman.mobi.

This tool was introduced to me by a few different people across the web and locally here in Fort Wayne, In.
After looking at a number of Sites, the one thing I noticed was they look nice but how do I get people to access them.

Heres the Problem – as more and more mobile applications become available, how do I get you to open my mobile app / site?

A friend of mine recently bragged about having 240 plus applications on his smart phone. How do I get him to open mine at noon on any given day? Than it hit me! Let’s add another tool to the mix.

First – They save your site to their homepage on their phone or add your mobile phone to their favorites.

Second – Heres the SUCCESS factor, the tool that makes it all happen. TEXT Program that they opt into via their mobile phone.

Here is an example that makes it happen: Local coffee chop called “New Ground Coffee Company” Advertises in the shop for people to subscribe to their Mobile VIP Club – text NGCC to 90210, immediately they receive a text response. ( try it now - you can always opt out ) Now they can send specials and promotions via text to your phone.

Now if he sends a text that includes a link that will open directly to the COUPON on the site, he will increase traffic to his site and STORE.

Networking Made Easy

15 Months ago I started my online Networking Adventure. It has been an amazing ride thus far! I have made some GREAT Friendships and learned a lot from the Empowered Tribe. I do have to admit tho, there are times that it can get all away from you.

Sometimes I feel that I haven’t been able to keep up. Posting more than every other week and sometime only once a month. I’m sure that many of you have felt the same frustrations. That is the reason for this post!

Permission Based Marketing, what is it?

Somebody asked me the other day, what is it that I actually do? I had to stop and think about the question. I have involved myself in a few different adventures but needed to sum this up in just a few words. I wasn’t ready for a long drawn out conversation that would make me look as if I’m moving in many directions. The reality of what I do is “Permission Based Marketing.

Mediocrity

I recently received an email from a long ago acquaintance of mine. This is a gentleman that has over 30 years in the network marketing industry. He has literally taught thousands of people to reach the top of their game in Network Marketing. I believe that he has been more instrumental in helpful others reach their Goals and Dreams than any other person I have met.

I always look at his emails to see what is going on with him. Some of the trainings that he has done will go down in history as great motivational trainings. Until you know the Why

What are you working on right now? What is your major product, program or adventure?
For now let’s just call it “Your Business“. It’s your thing!

What is the reason you chose this one?

You know what I’m talking about.

After spending many years online, I have seen many opportunities come and go. I have even jumped in to a few, only to forget down the road as to the reason why. Do you remember the reason you said this is it. This could be the one thing that rocks your world. I have one question for you.

What is your WHY?

You know what I’m talking about, that thing that motivates you to work on the things you need to do daily for your business. This is a major question. If you don’t know the WHY the HOW doesn’t matter! You can have the greatest business available in the world but if you don’t know why your doing it nothing matters. You will eventually fail.

It was 1984 that I discovered my WHY. I was 20 years old and just celebrated my 1 year anniversary. Melisa was working at a local grocery store and I, well I was still working at one of Fort Wayne, In oldest land marks Coney Island Wiener Stand. A place that started in 1914, selling Hot Dogs and Chili and 6 oz Cokes. I started there at age 13 washing dishes. Anyway I’m rambling, back to the why.

A month later Melisa gave birth to our first child. Ms Cortney weighed in at 4 lbs. 11 ozs. She changed our world! Shortly thereafter Melisa was told they were closing the store. I knew I had to make some changes. My wife’s cousin introduced me to a business opportunity. I took a week off to check it out, do some ride alongs and watch him in action. I decided I can do this. Tried to give a two week notice but my boss said go for it. Today he’s 86 and still running Coney Island like he has for 50+ years. It was June 10, 1984 when I quit my job and went full time in the insurance business. It was tough in the beginning. 3 weeks after i started my cousin quits. Couple years later he is doing Carnivals selling Hot Dogs.

What was my Why?

It was my FAMILY! To provide food, clothing and shelter for them. To this day it’s always been about the Family. Because of the WHY, my kids have always been blessed to have mom be able to stay at home. It’s not always been easy, but it’s been a great ride!

I’ve shared a little of my past, let’s talk about YOUR Future. Do you want to be more successful in your business? Live a more happier life. I submit this one idea to you. Take some time today, or this week and think about WHY you’re doing what you’re doing. Get to know your WHY, write it down. Share it with somebody. Because my friend, until you know the why, the how doesn’t matter.
