Juliette,

What an amazing feeling you get when you do something for no other reason than pure kindness. We actually went the entire year doing this at least 1 time a month. It's great to see expressions on peoples faces when the waiter / waitress says it has been taken care of.

Kindness is a very potent act. When I act unexpectedly, I know that person will remember it for many years to come, but what's better, it will influence them in their behavior towards others I will never meet. What's best is the ego that started it all (me) seems to gradually fade and spread into a pleasurable beneficence. Perhaps it will seem that way to you, too, dear reader.

Little acts of kindness and service go a long way in life. In business, the "little things" also make all the difference. Calling someone when we say we will. Honoring appointments. Telling people the truth even if it means we lose out of a sale. They all stack up to shape our character.

Thanks for sharing and reminding us of the importance of the little things we do Bill. These are in a sense probably much more important then the grand schemes and achievements we spend most of our lives being busy with, and it takes a giving mindset to see this.
Thanks for the reminder,
Johneal

Since it is almost midnight I think I will pick someone at random out of my facebook friends and send them a special hello. The other day I gave a lady in a parking lot my box of crackers. She was looking for money but all I had were Wheatables. I sure hope she liked them.
